Meet The London Outdoors Team
Jeremy “JEL” Bearder
Hi, I’m Jel! Since 2008, I’ve been passionate about inspiring people in the fitness world. My love for movement and the outdoors started early, from school sports to my time serving in the Army. I’ve always thrived in teamwork and competition, with football, tennis, swimming, and athletics shaping my early years.
I proudly represented my regiment in all these sports and even became the Junior Army Discus Champion in 1990. Fun fact: I held a world record for two weeks—come to one of my classes, and I’ll tell you the story!
Adventure and fitness go hand in hand for me. Each year, I lead group trips packed with skiing, white-water rafting, trekking, and mountain biking. The Himalayas are a regular destination for multi-activity trips, and our classes have an active social calendar to keep the community spirit alive.
Whether it’s on the field, in the gym, or out on an adventure, my mission is simple: to help you move, grow, and enjoy every step of the journey.

Shelly Guttman
For the past seven years, I’ve been leading outdoor fitness classes in parks, and it never feels like work—it’s my passion. There’s something truly special about exercising in nature, surrounded by a community of like-minded individuals who show up with motivation, no matter the weather—rain, sunshine, or even snow!
My goal in every session is to deliver a well-planned, full-body workout that’s not only effective but also fun and engaging. It’s incredibly fulfilling to hear participants say they pushed themselves and genuinely enjoyed the session.
Whether it’s a crisp morning class at 7 am or an evening session at 8 pm, seeing people show up and give their all keeps me inspired and dedicated to making every workout impactful.

Alvin Cheng
I am a dedicated private trainer from Hong Kong and has been transforming lives since 2016.
Armed with certifications from HK NASM and UK Level 3, I specialize in group classes, infusing each session with a contagious passion for fitness.
I firmly believe in the profound mental benefits of exercise. My commitment goes beyond the gym, as I advocate for holistic well-being.
In my downtime, you can find me indulging in my hobbies of volleyball and fitness workouts, staying true to an active lifestyle. With a blend of expertise, enthusiasm, and a deep-rooted belief in the power of fitness.
I am not just a fitness coach but a guide on the journey to a healthier, happier self. I believe one can discover himself through exercise, so let’s get mad!
Gavin Bungay
I earned my karate brown belt at 17, but my next big fitness milestone came 43 years later when I became a Level 3 Personal Trainer.
I joined the Finsbury Park crew 8 years ago as a member and quickly discovered it was more than just an exercise group—it’s a community. That sense of camaraderie inspired me to get involved and start coaching.
While I’m newly qualified, I love bringing fresh ideas and energy to my classes.
Dave Storey
By day, I’m a mild-mannered software engineer; the rest of the time, I’m an avid fitness fan and instructor. With a background as a Royal Marine Reservist and REME Reservist, I have a passion for helping people smash their fitness goals while juggling my love for writing software.
For the past 12 years, I’ve been coaching fitness (YMCA Level 2 Diploma in Exercise and Fitness), and you’ll often find me tackling obstacle races, long-distance running, or causing havoc at the gym. Fitness isn’t just a hobby—it’s a way of life for me.
George Byrne
Hi, I’m George—a former Royal Marines Commando with five years of service, and now a firefighter in London.
Helping others train and reach their potential is something I’ve always found rewarding. I’ve had the privilege of training the incredible finalists for the Miss GB competition while also pursuing my own fitness goals.
I competed in the first-ever London HYROX event and plan to take on many more in the future. Whether it’s training others or pushing my own limits, I’m passionate about fitness and its ability to transform lives.
Emma Cook
I’m a Level 3 Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Therapist who’s all about helping people smash their fitness goals and feel amazing. I specialize in strength training, endurance events, and functional fitness—especially helping women crush it with weights and confidence.
I’ve tackled two 100km ultramarathons, climbed a few mountains, and survived two Hyrox races (think fitness meets pure grit). Oh, and I’m slightly obsessed with Olympic weightlifting, which totally influences how I coach.
My mission? Show you how strength training isn’t just about muscles—it’s about boosting confidence and resilience. With science, support, and a sprinkle of fun, I’ll help you hit those goals and feel unstoppable!
